Kiss 'n' Tell Clothing Line: Kardashians by bebe

 

The Kardashians recently launched a new clothing line with bebe. I am totally in LOVE with this new line. I saw the look book online and had to go to the store and see it with my own eyes. The clothes look even better in person! The line presents a timeless, sophisticated, provocative, and classy look but yet you can wear it for any occasion. What makes it all better is the prices are affordable ($50 - $250). I have to say that this collection reminds me of the beautiful Kardashians sisters (Kim, Kourtney and Khloe). The collection really embodies each of the sisters style and taste.

Below are some of my FAVORITE pieces from the collection. My UTLIMATE favorite piece from the line is the Hoodie Bustier Dress, which Kim actually wore to the premiere fashion show!! 

  

To Backpack Or Not To Backpack . . . That Is The QUESTION!

A fellow classmate asked me one day “ How do I look fashionable without carrying a huge and heavy Jansport book bag around all day to school?”. So my response is there are many bags that are lightweight but durable enough for all your books and items. Choose bags made with soft fabrics such as cotton or nylon and stay away from LEATHER!! I know it may look nice and classy but it adds extra weight and baggage!! I’m not saying you shouldn’t have one but for comfort and especially for school choose light material. Shoulder, messenger and totes bags are the best choice. Tote bags especially since they are very popular this season. Even try a backpack with multiple pockets, zippers and buckles for an edgier look instead of a plain Jansport.

Movie Fashion: Wallstreet Starring Shia Labeouf & Michael Douglas

AS the release of the summers most anticipated movie sequeal nears, the cast of Wallstreet 2: Money Never Sleeps posed for their spread in Vanity Fair to promote the movie. The creative direction of the photo spread was captured by Annie Leibovitz. The movie will follow up the popular first Wallstreet which Michael Douglas starred in also. Shia will play an anxious up and coming wallstreet trader who blindly seeks the help of Gordan Gekko (Michael Douglas) to help him find the killer of his mentor. The plot will be filled with twists, turns, hangers, and much suspense as Gekko does what he does best, manipulate. All this while sporting Italian cut double breasted and three button suits. The movie comes out later this summer.

Kiss ‘n” Tell Blogger: Tavi at the age of 14 Faces Terms of Service Violations

Tavi Gevinson started blogging at the age of 11 and took the fashion world by storm with her theStyleRookie.com blog. No one knew that a young girl such as herself could be so inspiring and have such a huge following (over 50,000 readers!). However with fame and popularity come responsibilities and problems. Now her blog is “under review due to possible Blogger Terms of Service violations and is open to authors only." Tavi has posted comments on her Twitter explaining that it may be the nude picture but unlikely since she posted nudity before. But the fashion world doesn’t care; they just want to follow the 14-year-old inspirational blogger. So do I!

Teen Vogue's working on a NEW TV SHOW!!!

With the clutter of modern day publicity, even magazines have to try harder to keep their fans up to date. Amy Astley Teen Vogue's Editor-in-Chief mentioned that after their successful participation in the Hills they are working on developing a new TV show. I'm not sure what exactly the show will be about because according to www.Fashionista.com writer Britt, no further info was given about the content of the show. I guess we have to wait to find out... we'll keep you updated.

Fashionable Drinking: Matthew Williamson for Belvedere Vodka

Belvedere Vodka joins forces with Matthew Williamson on promotion for the new flavor: Pink Grapefruit. In a refreshing pink hue, Matthew Williamson has created a sultry flowing Kaftan that will go on sale for $1,540 in his boutiques in NYC and London on May 13.


Belvedere Vodka will be casting several promotional events from May 12th to May 14th, across from Matthew Williamson store at 414 West 14th Street. It will be a sight to see how Belvedere promotes drinking with style with guest like comedienne Chelsea Handler, style consultant Bevy Smith, and DJ Leigh Lezark who will be wearing a custom-made jumper in the Belvedere print.

Fashionable Vodka is not a new concept as Belvedere Vodka collaborated with the shoe designer Jonathan Kelsey last year for their Raspberry Flavor and Polish Vodka has recently sponsored several fashion events for designers such as Alice+Olivia, Alexander Wang, and Jeffrey Fashion Cares.

SPRING 2010 Fashion Trends

Is your Spring Wardrobe up to date? The biggest trends this spring season are Military, Florals,  and Tribal Prints!

If you want to instantly pick up The Military Look, you can’t go wrong with a basic military jacket.  A few characteristics of the Military jacket are the metallic buttons, the optional embroidery along the front torso, shoulders, and wrist, the standing collar, and epaulets. The most popular types of military jackets are the ones sold in twill and denim. We can thank Rihanna and other celebrities for making this trend popular.

Florals, Florals, Florals! This trend is great because it adds the perfect element of femininity to our outfits. Kim Kardashian shows that a floral skirt, solid top and neutral sandals are the combination for a sunny spring day. Of course a floral garment can be added to an edgy studded separate or anything denim for a bad girl/guy appearance.

The Tribal Look is one that seems very foreign yet it is exotic and welcoming. The geometric patterns surfaced on and around warm and natural tones scream wild and sexy when printed on a simple silhouette. It is worn best with wood, matte metallic, or beaded accessories.  

KISS ‘n’ Tell TV Show: The Hills & The City are BACK!!!

BOTH The Hills and The City are back this Tuesday, APRIL 24 at 10pm on MTV. I say let the DRAMA BEGIN! If you’re not familiar with these shows, it follows the life of young adults going through relationships, friendships, struggles and success. But we can’t forget about FASHION! The City gives you an inside look of ELLE magazine. So if you want to see the expectation and demands of a fashion magazine, this is the show to watch. The star of the show – Whitney Port, shows you the steps it takes to start a clothing line and how to move up in the fashion world. And how can I forget that The City also features People’s Revolution, the PR firm headed by the stern but fabulous Kelly Cutrone. The Hills deals more with life in general, but Adriana’s role shows you the music industry with Sony Music Entertainment. So watch the shows this Tuesday and tell me what you think!

We are used to Old Navy’s basic preppy sweater and khaki sets year after year, but their new inventory will blend in some youthful rocker attitude. Fashion Event at Coup de Coeur

As I walked into Coup de Coeur yesterday, I was greeted with a warm and friendly welcome. The small boutique on 739 Fulton Street was holding a Spring/Summer Shopping Event. If your wondering like I was, the store means you fall in love right away and that’s exactly how I felt. The store contains everything one needs for a complete look – dresses, shirts, pants, bags, shoes, jewelry, makeup and accessories. Although I was in love with the store already because of the compelling clothes and prints, I fall in love all over again when I found out that Coup de Coeur offers New Styles EVERY WEEK! all at a reasonable low price. Coup de Coeur has many locations across the city so visit one . . . you won’t be disappointed =D

Celebrities at Coachella!!!!

This past weekend celebrities came out to the biggest three-day  annual music and arts festival organized by Goldenvoice, held at the Empire Polo Fields in Indio, California, in theInland Empire’s Coachella Valley. The event featured many genres of music including Alternative Rock, Hip Hop, and other forms of musical and sculptural art.

She is no longer the cute model chick with the blonde pixie cut. Now the first thing we think of when we see this look is G.I. Jane. Agnes Deyn sported this look at the Coachella festival this weekend. As of right now I’m not sure if this look gets Kissed or Cursed.

     After Britain’s 19 years old supermodel Jourdan Dunn had her baby in December, everyone was anxious about her next move and how long it would take for her to get back to her normal life. What we were not expecting was for her boyfriend, the father of her new born child to get arrested two months after her giving birth!!! For a cocaine Bust! He will now be spending 3 ½ years in jail.  She was devastated but was currently spotted walking the runway for a charity fashion show in London. We admire her courage because she seems determined to not let her personal life get in her way. But the real questions is:  after being head to head with supermodel Chanel  Iman, will she be able pick up her game right where she left off???

What EVERY Girl Should Have In HER Closet

IF there is one thing a girl should have in her closet, its NEUTRALS, NEUTRALS, NEUTRALS. I can’t say it Enough! Neutrals provide a common ground for ever outfit and can save you both money and time. So stock your closet with white, black, beige, gray, etc and you can rock any outfit.

Have a pair of nice heels in your closet. It’s not only good for those nights out on the town but also for your dream job interview. Remember one article of clothing can be used for a variety of things. Also to snag that job you always wanted, have a nice suit ready and you'll walk in their with both style and grace =)

To skinny jean or not to skinny jean is the question. Have BOTH!! There are times when you want to give off a sexy and sophisticated look (Skinny Jean) and when you want to be nice and causal (Boot Cut, Straight Leg, etc.)

Then there are Cardigans! I can’t tell you how much cardigans have saved my life. You might think so what, but let me tell you it works WONDERS. A cardigan can accentuate any outfit, make colors pop and change a boring plain outfit to an amazing outfit.

Last but not least, the classic “Little Black Dress”. This is self-explanatory. Every girl must have one in her closet. That’s bottom line. =D

KISS OR CURSE: Jeggings!

Fashion Equation: Jeans + Leggings = Jeggings!

At first I skeptical about this. Why would anyone want to mix the two -- but they're just so comfortable and KISSABLE! First Celebrities were wearing them, now they are showing up in our favorite stores everywhere! Of course Jeggings can go so wrong. If you don't own the look (especially if you accessorize with a camel toe). The best advice that I would give is don't forget that they actually are leggings, but you must keep it a secret.
