Beyonce Is Turning Up The HEAT!

Let me just start by saying that in my opinion, Beyonce is one of THE most talented artist I have ever seen. So when she comes out with her first fragrance, I don’t expect it to be anything less than perfect. A while back, a friend and I went to Macy’s and smelt the fragrance, which had a beautifully warm and sultry aroma. To me it represented the essence of Heat.

However, Beyonce has recently caught fire with British TV who says her ad is “too sexually provocative” and therefore banned the commercial from daytime TV.

The one thing I do like about the commercial is the representation of heat with the smoke, her melting the wall as she flows her hands along and her feet heating up the floor as she walks. I think it shows the power of the perfume and gives it real flair especially with the music and “Catch the Fever” phrase.

Although Beyonce does not have an album out right now, she is still having amazing success in her career. She is the second richest woman after Oprah Winfrey, who better watch out because Beyonce is certainly heating things up.

Kiss ‘n’ Tell Trend: SHORTS With LEGGINGS or TIGHTS!!

A trend that I’m really starting to love is SHORTS and LEGGINGS/TIGHTS! Its chic, its stylish, and its fashionable! For me its something I can throw on and feel comfortable all day long. Not too long ago I cut a pair of jeans that were too tight and made my own shorts. So you don’t have to throw away your old pair of jeans . . . just cut them!! You can dress up the look by adding a blazer, a denim vest, fur vest and/or graphic tee. It also looks great with boots and especially high top boots, which is my personal Fav! I even see retail stores like Express and H&M incorporate the trend, so expect to see it this Season!!

Oops!! Host Says Wrong Name on Australia's Next Top Model

Australia was shocked when the Host said Kelsey Martinovich was the winner of Australia's Next Top Model instead of Amanda Ware (whom was the REAL winner). Kelsey even got to say a thank you speech and receive an outstanding audience applause. However, when the host was given information about saying the wrong name, her face immediately changed. You could see the disappoint and shame in her eyes. The sad part about the whole thing is that the REAL winner didnt even get her shine as she walked down the runway claiming her title as Australia's Next Top Model.

Lauren Conrad: Reality Star Once AGAIN With New MTV Show

If you were a fan of Laguna Beach and The Hills then you definitely want to see Lauren Conrad’s new MTV Show about the launch of her new clothing line. The show will show what it takes to start you own clothing line and fashion empire. However, don’t expect drama in this new show. The show will not display her love life or any personal dilemmas. The show is expected to be different from her previous two in content. Lets just hope its still entertaining.

What Is Up With the Obsession that Lighter Is Better??

When I saw Gabby Sidibe on the cover of ELLE I was like this girl is definitely a STAR! I was so happy for the girl who went from Actress to Oscar nominee over night. Then I found out that her photo was lighten on the cover and all I could think was WHY?? Why even put her on the cover if you think her skin is not good enough. Why would you insult her grace by changing her skin tone? Her color is what makes her Gabby! Isn’t that what ELLE wanted on the cover in the first place. So why change her and make her someone she’s not.

Then this incident made me think back to when Beyonce’s L’Oreal Ad showed her in a recognizably lighter shade. Once again all I can think about was WHY??? In my opinion the L’ Oreal picture actually looks worst because they stripped away Beyonce’s radiant skin and instead made her look ghostly and washed out(Literally).

I just think the fashion industry is too obsessed with lightness. I just want to know who said lighter is better?? Not me. . . Not anyone I know. People are beautiful in all shades and all shades should be welcome and UNALTERED.

What I ADORE this Week!!

So as Tianna and I were passing by time on the computer before class started, we came across the Betsey Johnson website. We continued to look through until long and behold she found this Betsey Goes to Paris Pearl Tie Necklace. Immediately I fell in love with it and wanted to go to a store where Betsey Johnson is sold so I could add it to my own jewelry collection. Even though the necklace may been a little pricey at $85. . . the cute little charms scattered throughout the tie makes it way cuter than an ordinary one. Thats for sure! =)

Kiss ‘n’ TELL ALERT: Lady Gaga’s VMAs Outfit Made of Meat . . .YES MEAT!!

Lady Gaga is known for her over the top fashion and style. However, none of her crazy outfits and other wild antics could even be compared to her VMAs meat outfit. Just think about it, a dress made of meat . . .MEAT!! When I first saw the outfit on the show I thought it was a regular red dress. But then later on I saw the outfit up close and my eyes just popped . . . I just couldn’t believe it! Even her shoes, hairpiece and bag were made of meat. It just makes you realize that creativity can never fail when it comes to Gaga. She will forever WOW and AMAZE us with her sense of style. It makes you wonder – Why doesn’t Lady Gaga have her own fashion line?? With a mind like that, she should make a collection even if its just a couture line but then again, others would try to look like her and only Lady Gaga could pull off Gaga Fashion!!

Is the Sasha Fierce Line too FIERCE!?

Some say that Beyonce’s Sasha Fierce for Dereon line might be too much for back to school. I’ve seen some of the collection, which includes full body jumpsuits, one shoulder dresses, leather jackets and ripped jeans with lace detailing. Not to forget the over the top accessories that contains extravagant jewelry, oversize sunglasses and heavily studded shoes. Now you can think what you want, but the real question is: Should young females be wearing this line to school. I mean it is called the junior collection but some of the clothes are what college students and older would wear. Another issue is that the line is suppose to represent Beyonce’s alter ego Sasha Fierce, but how fierce (or bad) is this second personality to go ahead and create it and then market it to young females. Don’t get me wrong, I love Beyonce and think she is an amazing performer. I just think the line is more for night/evening wear then back to school.

Now that Fall is approaching you can show your animal side!! With designs ranging from leopard, cheetah, tiger or zebra. However, in order to make your outfit look chic, pair your animal prints with neutrals. It balances out the outfit for a clean-cut look instead of a crazy mess of prints. And if your like me and don’t want to over do it, put little bits of print in your outfit. For example, an animal printed bag, clutch, belt or shoes. Having a hint of animal print goes a long way and makes that item POP in your outfit.

Trina Turk's Swim Collection Is Too HOT For Miami!!

Miami, Florida was heating up these past few days (July 15-19) with the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week for Swim. Out of all the designers, Trina Turk’s collection really caught my eye. She included great prints and color combinations while also having some one color pieces, which I didn’t see in other collections. I loved that she had swimwear for every body type by including cover-ups, one piece and two-piece swimsuits. I also loved that she included swimwear for men in her collection.

Janet Jackson is the newest face for Blackglama and their luxurious fur coats. She joins Diana Ross, Aubrey Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor, Sophia Loren and other icons to the legendary label. The Ads for "What Becomes a Legend Most" are set to debut in September. The Ads will be featured in Vogue, Vanity Fair, W, Harper's Bazaar, Women's Wear Daily and T: The New York Times Style Magazine. I know when September comes around I will defintely be buying one or more of these magazines to see all the Ads!

What I ADORE this WEEK!!

So as we all know, there is a new Forever 21 on Times Square and boy is it BIG!! I went down one flight on the escalators and I felt like I entered JEWELRY HEAVEN. There are so many necklaces, bracelets, rings, earrings and accessories that you don’t even know where to start. However, through all the glamorous items in the store, I found one necklace that I just couldn’t put down. It was the Pearlescent Corsage Necklace for just $9.80!! It’s laying on my dresser now, just waiting to be worn! =D
